If you ever decide to start a massacre, to just waste anyone who passes by, I suggest you take your discman along the ride and have Balatonizer encourage your senses. "We are like an Italian extra strong black coffee that emits rage and power, stuffed of our fundamental ironical vein" is how they describe themselves. This triple espresso has been raging since 1997. In 2001 the line-up grew to what it is today. After a few demos and an ep a full-length album was recorded in 2003 named "Occlused in Ottusity". Their label This Dark Reign mentions it was released in June 2004 and I believe its May 2005 now. (Promotion in Europe wasn't that great so the band has started there own promotion in Europe now in 2005) With 32 songs in less then 30 minutes (hehe) it deserves no explanation Balatonizer is in a hurry after all.
Balatonizer offers us quality deathgrind. The more often I play this disc the harder it shouts to be played again. Although the songs are short, they all have head and tail. Besides the blasting drum-machine plenty of cool breaks, mid-tempo riffs and even some slower shit keep it interesting. The deathmetal part has the upper hand most of the time. The sound of the guitar and vocals made sure I looked that way, but the riffs also take position in that. Although some songs like "Inebetit" or Cerebral Regression" edge more to grind a perfect balance between the two style has been found. If you'd combine XXX Maniak with Mortician, scratch out the intros, porn and some gore, realizing Balatonizers vocals are better you get a good picture.
Even if you don't like the sound of a drum-machine you should check this out. The songs are way to cool to be picky in any way. This brutal piece belongs in your collection because it's the best bridge between death and grind I can think of right now.
