Balatonizer is a grind-core band from Italy who has recently released Occlused In
Ottusity, which has been talked about rather frequently in the metal underground,
and I can certainly see why. This album fucking crushes with the speed and intensity
of grind core bands such as Leng Tch\'e and The Berzerker, and brutal death metal
bands such as Devourment and Deeds Of Flesh. Who knew total and
complete chaos could come about in literally thirty-two songs
that usually aren't longer than forty-five seconds. An interesting
fact about this band is that one of their members happens to be a comic
book artist for Marvel Comics, so the album definitely has themes along
the lines of what you'd see in there. These guys definitely know how to
program a drum machine, because the blast-beats on here would be very
difficult to play for a human being, that's for sure.
Not much is known about this band, and I just can't understand why.
Everything about this album is fantastic, the production, the growling vocals,
the brutal chugga-chugga riffs, the musicianship, the movie samples at
the beginning of the songs (most of which are in Italian, but are still freaky),
the drum machine, it's all flawless.
To all fans of grind core and brutal death metal everywhere; check Balatonizer
out, you will definitely not be disappointed.
