This album
has it all - sick riffs, blasting drums, impressive vocal work and a
top-notch level of songwriting. That’s great and all, but the
production nearly kills it. The bass is poorly maintained; the vocals
and guitar seem to battle for the front with a noticeable lack of depth
in each and the drums are average. The Italian trio is tight, focused
and heavy as hell, but the marred production takes a lot away from the
impact. Aside from that, the CD artwork kicks ass (guitarist Marco is
an artist for Marvel Comics Europe and includes a strip of the band
inside the booklet) and the entire deal is pretty good. Balatonizer has
loads of potential, and cleaning up the production might just expose
them to the world.
