Balatonizer is the band around growler Mario M., bass player Rodan and
Marco F. (guitars and drum programming). “Occlused In Ottusity” is
their debut full length release (or is it a mini, with its total
duration of 25 minutes?), named after their 2002-demo tape, and the 32
songs, with average duration of less than one minute (I figured it out
without a calculator, can you imagine?), stand for some sort of
maniacal, mad, extremely brutal, chaotic, hyper-kinetic and
psycho(pa)t(h)ic Grindcore, interspersed with samples from Italian
movies from the seventies, an energetic / inhuman drum computer and
some more Death Metal-oriented influences (especially in the low tuned
‘turbo-injection’ bass riffs). This out-of-mind musick isn’t original
or renewing, it doesn’t open a new dimension of revelational
experience, but I’m sure this will be appreciated a lot by all those
who are satisfied by the gore and the sickness of for example early
Carcass, Exhumed, Rupture Christ or Gorerotted, but also for example
Cannibal Corpse, Gorgasm, Suffocation or Cattle Decapitation, just to
name a few. Oh yes, the CD also includes a video track of “Muscular
Prevarication”.
